Valentines for all

Valentines for all

Children from a Prudhoe primary school have been spreading a message of love in the week before Valentine's Day.

The reception class children from Adderlane Academy made Valentine's cards for every resident of The Manors Extra Care housing scheme, which sits just a few hundred yards from their school on Adderland Road in West Wylam.

The children visited The Manors last week to personally deliver the cards to all the apartments within the building - and had the chance to meet some of the residents too.

Mark Pae, activities coordinator at The Manors, said: "This is such a lovely project for the children to get involved in, and it's great for our residents to receive a handmade card, and to know that the children are thinking about them.

"We'd like to thank Adderlane Academy for visiting our residents and brightening up everyone's day with their beautiful cards."

The Manors is an Extra Care housing scheme for older residents in Prudhoe. The building contains 46 apartments where residents can all live independently, but can call on support when they need it, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

A full programme of activities is available to residents, to ensure the building is always vibrant with conversation and interaction.

The Manors operates a café which is open to the whole community, and also offers meeting rooms where local community and voluntary groups can meet.
