Fix it
In support of Gas Safety Week, which runs from the 16-22 September 2019, Karbon’s heating and gas engineers are informing householders of the important of gas safety and reminding everyone of the importance of having an annual gas safety check.
Throughout the week we are informing residents of a wide range of gas safety matters, including how to help your vulnerable loved ones to stay gas safe, what to do if you suspect a gas leak in your property, and advise not to DIY when it comes to gas and leave it to the expert engineers in the team.
Gas appliances that have not properly been maintained can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. Carbon monoxide is known as the ‘silent killer’ because you can’t see, smell or taste it. Therefore, it is highly important that you let us check your gas appliances annually.
Dave Brown, Heating and Compliance Manager at Karbon Homes, said: “This Gas Safety Week we want to reiterate just how important gas safety is, and shares some tips and advise on how people can make sure they keep themselves and their families safe.
The safety of our customers and their families is a top priority for Karbon, which is why we carry out annual gas safety checks in our properties to ensure appliances meet the required safety standards.
Our main message to customers this week is if Karbon has contacted you to say your check is due, please make sure you let us in. If you know you’re not going to be home, make sure it is rescheduled for as soon as possible.
“This is not just a legal requirement for us, it is vital for your safety!”
