Our regulatory assessment

We’re delighted to announce that we have retained our G1/V1 status following a recent assessment from our regulator.

The In-Depth Assessment (IDA) process is a regulatory tool used by the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) to gather assurance that registered providers are meeting the expectations of the regulator's standards, particularly the Governance, Financial Viability and Value for Money standards.

G1 is the highest rating a housing provider can achieve, showing that we meet the RSH’s governance requirements.

V1 is the highest rating for financial viability, indicating that we meet the RSH’s viability requirements and have the financial capacity to deal with a range of adverse scenarios.

An IDA is a detailed and thorough process that includes us submitting a range of documents and evidence, interviews with our senior team, Group Board Chair and Chair of the Group Audit and Risk Committee, and observation of a board meeting. It takes place over several months.

Paul Fiddaman, Group Chief Executive at Karbon Homes said: “Retaining the highest rating for both the governance and viability standard is important to us and shows Karbon is in a strong position for the future. The IDA is a very rigorous process and the outcome is testament to the hard work and dedication of our fantastic colleagues.”
