Karbon residents treated to Christmas carol performance

Tuesday, 12th December 2017

Year 3 pupils from Cestria Primary School in Chester-le-Street entertained residents at The Elms Extra Care scheme last week by singing a rendition of Christmas carols.

The children, wearing festive hats sang all classics including; Silent Night, Away in a Manager, Jingle Bells, Little Donkey, O’ come all ye faithful and the Slade classic, Merry Christmas Everybody.

Residents enjoyed their performance so much, they waved their carol sheets and arms in the air during the performance. All the children were rewarded with a selection box for their efforts.

This is the second year in a row children from Cestria Primary School have sang Christmas carols for residents at The Elms and strengthens our relationship with the school. Karbon Homes previously worked with the school and residents to produce postcards for display in The Elms.

Lewis Rimington, Community Development Officer at Karbon Homes, said: “The residents really enjoyed listening to the children and joined in with all the carols. It sounded lovely and was special to see the community coming together. Thank you to all the pupils and children at Cestria Primary School for spreading Christmas cheer here at The Elms.”
