Karbon Homes is the new name for the combined organisation of Cestria, Isos and Derwentside.
Our new name was announced at the beginning of April after our regulator, the Homes and Communities Agency, approved plans to amalgamate all three landlords to become one, new larger housing association. It means the organisation is one of the largest housing associations in the North East.
There are many reasons for the change, but ultimately, it is about delivering more and better services for you, our residents.
We are aligning our services, building on our shared strengths, resources and skills and we promise to deliver you the same high standards of service. We have started to restructure our Executive Team with three senior appointments. Mark Reid was appointed from within the group and is Executive Director for Finance while external appointments have been made with Jo Ray, as Executive Director of Customer Services and Charlotte Carpenter joining the business as Executive Director of Business Growth and Development.
Jo is responsible for leading customer services, which includes many of the services you receive. She joins the organisation after a 20-year career with Newcastle-based Sage Group plc and will oversee 600 staff including housing management, supported housing, resident involvement, community engagement and repairs and maintenance.
Commenting on her appointment, Jo said: “Joining Karbon Homes as a new organisation is a great opportunity to build on the fantastic foundations already laid down. I like the opportunity to build, shape and construct the future and it is important to be part of an organisation that looks to make people’s lives better, and with a culture of loyalty and respect.”
Over the next few months, as we align our services, you will start to see the new Karbon Homes name and branding on our vans, signs, our website and on our marketing materials.
