We're proud to announce that we have retained our leading A+ credit rating from Standard & Poor’s (S&P)

In its report, S&P was complimentary of Karbon's “focus on its core business of social housing activities, combined with its robust liquidity position, which helps Karbon Homes balance the economic challenges associated with operating in the North East of England.’’ S&P also emphasises that Karbon’s financial policies are “prudent and strong”.

We aim to provide homes and services which form the foundations for people and places to fulfil their potential.  As a housing association that owns or manages almost 30,000 properties across the North East of England and Yorkshire, we have ambitious plans to develop at least 500 more high quality new homes every year.

Andrew Thompson, Assistant Director, Treasury, said: “We are delighted to have retained our A+ credit rating from Standard & Poor’s and that they have shown confidence in our financial performance and long term strategy.

“Our Strong Foundations Strategy focuses on delivering excellent customer service, providing as many good quality homes as we can, and shaping strong and sustainable places.

“As a profit for purpose business, we invest any surplus into building, improving and maintaining homes, and providing sustainable and positive outcomes for customers and places.  This rating is very encouraging and demonstrates we have the financial strength to deliver our strategy and continue to build strong foundations for even more people.”
