BDMLR Marine Life Mammal course: free places available to Karbon residents!

Friday, 6th September 2019

We have a fantastic opportunity for three residents to complete a Rescue’s Marine Mammal Rescue course, with the British Diver Marine Life Rescue, free of charge.

This full day course, which will take place on Sunday 13th October 2019 at Newbiggin Maritime Centre aims to train members of the public on how to safely rescue marine mammals that have been stranded.

Course attendees will learn how to rescue Whales, Dolphins, Porpoises & Seals, through a series of talks and practical sessions, using life sized models of the animals.

This is a great opportunity for Karbon residents, to learn new valuable skills and learn more about local marine life.

Places on the course are usually £90 but we can offer three free places to Karbon residents, all you need is a wetsuit, packed lunch and travel to Newbiggin.

If this sounds like something you or a member of your household would been keen to get involved in, please contact Community Connector, Mary Ormston on
