Welcome to the latest Take Five newsletter.

I hope you are well and enjoyed the summer months.

It was fantastic to see so many of our customers enjoying our Holiday Squad programme. Holiday Squad has provided fun, affordable activities for children and families throughout the summer holidays, thanks to support from RE:GEN North East and funding secured through a partnership between The Bread and Butter Thing, Comic Relief, Sainsbury’s and Durham County Council’s Fun and Food programme. Scroll down to find out more. You can find out more by scrolling down.

It is important as we move closer to winter to keep your homes warm for your own health, and to reduce the risk of damp and mould. If you’re struggling to keep up with your energy payments, our Money Matters Team can help. Find out more about how they can help and how to contact them here.

If you are concerned about damp and mould in your home, please report it to us via:

  • Calling our freephone number: 0808 164 0111

November will see the next phase of Awaab’s Law , which was introduced in response to the tragic death of Awaab Ishak after prolonged exposure to mould in his Rochdale home.

The law sets timescales for social housing providers to respond to serious hazards in customers’ homes. Phase one focused on damp and mould, and phase two expands those same rules to other serious problems. You can read more by scrolling down below.

As the days become shorter, and nights longer, I want to remind you that we do not tolerate anti-social behaviour in and around our homes. If you are experiencing anti-social behaviour, you can report it to us using our iWitness service. You can find out more about it here.

Thank you.

Ian Johnson

Executive Director of Customer Services

.

Feedback from our customers is very important to us, with customer care and satisfaction at the heart of what we do.

It’s also important that similar organisations to us gather the same feedback. The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) uses Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs) to assess if social landlords in England are doing their job right.

The RSH asks us to measure this performance as Karbon Group, this includes Karbon Homes and subsidiaries 54North Homes and Leazes Homes.

The views and experiences of our shared ownership and leasehold customers are incredibly important to us at Karbon, and we want to use them to influence the service we provide you.

We’re currently carrying out our annual shared ownership customer satisfaction survey to gather your views on our services, covering areas such as:

• Overall satisfaction

• Maintaining building safety

• Respectful and helpful engagement

• Effective handling of complaints/ASB

• Responsible neighbourhood management

The results of this survey impacts our tenant satisfaction measures, and ensures you’re not only heard but that your feedback is used to make impactful change.

This survey is being managed on our behalf by our research partner, M.E.L Research, so you may receive a telephone call, a letter, a text or an email from them asking for your feedback. The number they’ll call from is XXX and their email address survey@melresearch.co.uk The survey will be open until to the end of October.

Those who complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 voucher.
