The 124-apartment scheme, on the site of the former Chuter Ede School, is a partnership between Karbon Homes and South Tyneside Council, with Robertson Construction North East appointed as the lead contractor for the development.
The scheme will supply high-quality homes, designed for those who have additional support and care needs to live independently. There will be a whole host of facilities and amenities onsite to support and promote independent living, alongside two community spaces available to rent for local groups or clubs.
There will be 32 two-bed and 92 one-bed apartments, 25 of which will be specialist dementia apartments. All apartments will be for rent. The homes will be owned and managed by Karbon with South Tyneside Council’s Adult Social Care team supporting with the allocation of the apartments. This scheme is available for anyone aged 18+. Expressions of interest now open.
