Have your say on our plans for new homes in Forrest Hall

We’d love to hear your thoughts on our plans for 20 new homes in Forrest Hall.

Karbon Homes has resubmitted a planning application to North Tyneside Council for the development of 20 affordable homes on the former site of The Fusilier pub, on Clydedale Avenue.

We want to hear your feedback on the design and layout of this new proposal.

The plans include a mix of both one and two-bed apartments and three-bed houses. We welcome your comments relating to the affordable homes themselves, as well as the development’s access, design, landscaping and layout.

Visit our dedicated feedback page to have a look and leave comments on the site plan.

Changes to original plans submitted for the site

You may be aware that in early 2019, we submitted a planning application for the site to North Tyneside Council, which proposed the development of housing for those with complex needs. The application outlined a residential development with 32 apartments, arranged across four separate, two-storey buildings.

Due to viability issues with the original development proposal for the site we had to explore alternative options, and based on an assessment of housing need in this location we’ve reconfigured our plans and created a new proposal which provides the local community with much-needed, affordable homes.

Available through a mixture of tenures, these homes will be perfect for those who may otherwise struggle to take the first steps on the property ladder.

Additional information

  • Car parking will be provided for each home, accompanied by 7 additional visitor parking spaces.
  • Vehicle access will be via Clydesdale Avenue with pedestrian and cycle access maintained through the site via Victoria Avenue.
  • Each of the 3 bed houses fronts Benton Green, with a private garden to the rear of the property.

Karbon Homes – who we are and what makes us different

At Karbon Homes, we build, manage and look after affordable homes for people across the North. And then we go further, we give them the strong foundations they need to get on with life. Some customers just need an affordable home, or a way onto the property ladder. Others might need more – financial advice, community services, or even training that can lead to a new job.

Whatever people need to feel more secure, confident and happy with where they’re at, we work out heart out to provide it.

As a profit-for-a-purpose organisation, we invest any surplus we generate into improving our properties and communities, building new homes and delivering services. By combining a sound business head with a strong business heart and staying true to our values, we believe we can build strong foundations for even more people.
