Karbon Group recruits to its board

Karbon Group is pleased to announce that it’s recruiting three new independent roles to join its Group Board, including a Board Chair, a Board Member and a Board Trainee.

The Board includes 11 independent non-executive members and the Group Chief Executive, Paul Fiddaman. Together, they provide strategic leadership, set long-term direction, approve major policies and budgets and oversee organisational performance and governance.

Group Chief Executive, Paul Fiddaman said: “We’re delighted to welcome interest in joining our Group Board. As a profit-for-purpose organisation, our focus is on providing good quality homes, an excellent customer experience and shaping strong, sustainable communities across the North.

“We’re looking for values-driven individuals who share our social purpose and are committed to making a difference. The roles offer the opportunity to contribute to effective, collaborative governance. We also encourage applications from customers, recognising the significant insight that lived experience brings.

“I’d also like to extend my sincere thanks to our outgoing members Alexis and Hanif for their dedication and the contribution they have made to Karbon’s success. Their leadership and commitment have helped shape our organisation and the services we provide to our customers.

“We’re proud of our work and the impact we have, and we look forward to welcoming new voices and perspectives to help shape our future.”

Two recruitments are a result of planned Board succession. After six years of service, including time as both Board Member and Chair, Alexis Cleveland will be stepping down at the end of her term in the summer, and the Group is therefore seeking a new Chair to lead the Board.

A new Board Member is being recruited following the completion of Hanif Malik’s term. Karbon is particularly interested in candidates with experience in community engagement and investment, placemaking and regeneration, or with current or recent lived experience of social housing.

Building on the success of its initial programme and in partnership with the Housing Diversity Network, Karbon is also offering a Board Trainee position to support the development of future board leaders.

Further details on all roles, including how to apply, are available at www.karbonhomes.co.uk.
