As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, we wanted to share this inspiring story of one of Darren, one of our Supported Housing customers.
As Darren had experienced poor mental health for most of his adult life. It had led to him getting social anxiety and being unable to leave his home.
But when he was referred to our Supported Housing team, Darren, with the help of his support worker, Stephen, was able to rediscover his confidence and get out in the world again.

Karbon Homes’ Talking Stories friendship group praised by Hexham MP
Silver Friends, an in-person social befriending programme in West Northumberland, has been praised by Local MP Joe Morris for supporting the mental health and wellbeing of older residents.
Our Customer Accounts Team Manager, Ruth Shrimpton-Dean spoke to us about the dangers of looking to resolve those financial issues via loan sharks and what support is available.
