We’re pleased to welcome Stephen Love to Karbon Group Board as our newest Board Trainee.
As part of our Board Trainee Programme, delivered in partnership with Housing Diversity Network, Stephen will gain first-hand experience of governance, leadership and strategic decision-making. Through mentoring, development opportunities and exposure to Board and Committee meetings, the programme helps develop the next generation of housing sector leaders while bringing different perspectives into our organisation.
Stephen lives in King’s Lynn with his young family and works as an Insight Manager at Accent Group, which provides 21,000 homes to people living in the North East, South East and North West of England. He is responsible for performance monitoring and reporting, helping provide the organisation and Board with the information and insight needed to make informed decisions.
Stephen’s interest in affordable housing stems from his own experiences growing up.
Stephen said: “Social housing was part of everyday life where I grew up. Some of my family and many of my friends called it home, so I saw first-hand the difference housing organisations can make to people's lives and communities.
“Karbon's values also really appealed to me, as well as the focus of having a ‘sound business head and a strong social heart’. It’s clear the organisation is committed to making a positive difference for customers.
“In my current role, I spend a lot of time preparing and sharing performance information with our Board. I wanted to better understand what boards need, how decisions are made and how I can continue developing professionally.
“I see this as a fantastic opportunity to learn from others, gain valuable governance experience and continue developing my skills within the housing sector.”
