Revitalising Stanley Board School: Share your vision!
In March 2023 Karbon Homes bought the Stanley Board School. We did this following feedback from the community who said it was one of their top priorities for Karbon to bring the site back into use.
The Stanley Board School stands at the heart of the community, and it's time for a change. We've been looking at lots of different options and we’d like residents to tell us what they would like to see happen with this site.
To make sure we speak to as many people as possible, there are a few ways people can get involved…
Pop-up Stalls at the Stanley Market
If you live in Stanley and would like to come down and chat to us about the Board School, we’ll be there on two separate dates:
- Thursday 29 February, 10am-2pm
- Thursday 7 March, 10am-2pm
Members of our team will be on hand to answer any questions and listen to ideas.
Digital Feedback Platform
In partnership with Placechangers, we have a new digital platform that residents of Stanley can use to record and share their ideas with us.

Drop-in to the Skills Hub
If you live locally but can’t make it to our pop-up events at the Stanley Market, you can still share your ideas by dropping in to our Stanley Skills Hub throughout March.
You can drop in to the Skills Hub on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 9.30am to 4.30pm. You can find it at 23-33 Front Street, Stanley, DH9 0JE.
Community evening drop-in
If you live in Stanley and unable to attend the other events, we’ll be holding a drop in event at Stanley Bowling Club on Thursday March 14th from 5pm until 7pm.

Voucher giveaway by Karbon Homes
- The prize is one £50 voucher per household. Two winners will be selected.
- The prize is non-refundable, non-transferable and subject to availability. No guarantee is given as to the quality of the prize.
- No cash or prize alternatives are available.
- Karbon Homes reserves the right in their reasonable discretion to substitute any prize with a prize of equal or greater value.
- The winners of the voucher will be drawn at random from all accounts created and notified by email no later than 01/05/2024. Where we require details from you, if you do not provide these within 28 days of notification we reserve the right to select a different winner.
- All entrants are expected to act fairly and in the good spirit of the competition. Karbon Homes reserves the right to investigate any irregularities and disqualify entrants at its absolute discretion.
- Karbon Homes’ decision as to who has won the competition shall be final.
