We can provide free impartial and confidential advice on benefit appeals, for all residents of County Durham.


If you have a had a benefit decision made by the Department for Work and Pensions or Durham County Council that you disagree with, you can contact us for advice and guidance. We offer:

  • Free, impartial and confidential guidance. We can help you understand your rights and the options available to you.
  • Appeals preparation. We assist with gathering evidence, completing appeal forms, and drafting written submissions to ensure cases are presented clearly and effectively.
  • Representation and advocacy. We act as representatives and liaise with the Courts and Tribunals Service, the Department for Work and Pensions and the Local Authority on your behalf.
  • Ongoing Support. A dedicated caseworker to support you through the appeals process.

Our service is open to anyone in County Durham, not just Karbon Homes customers, who need help challenging a decision made by the Department for Work and Pensions or the Local Authority.
