The scheme will supply high-quality homes, designed for those who have extra care needs and are able to live independently. Assisted living is a housing option for people aged 55 or over and who value their independence but need help with some day-to-day tasks. Assisted living can maximise your health and wellbeing and help you to live independently for as long as possible providing care and support for up to 35 hours a week  

The benefits of living in an Extra Care Scheme are there is staff onsite 24-hours-a-day reassuring residents and giving them a safe place to live. Lawson house has an onsite Housing Officer to help with any housing queries and a range of housing issues including repairs.

About Byker


Byker is a district in the east end of the city of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Just across from Lawson House is the Byker wall. The Byker Wall is a long unbroken block of 620 maisonettes designed by Ralph Erskine and constructed in the 1970s. 'The Wall' covers 200 acres in total, and was made famous by the TV Series Byker Grove that aired its first series 1989 with the North East's own Ant and Dec.

Byker has its own Metro station with links to the coast and Newcastle city centre, Byker also has its own pool and library with high quality leisure facilities and a large purpose-built Morrison's store that opened in 2002.
