There are 52 apartments over four floors, which are made up of rental, leasehold and shared ownership. There are 48 two bedroom and four one-bedroom apartments, with open plan kitchen/living room area and a wet room. The building was erected in 2015 and is currently managed by Karbon Homes. Our address is: The Elms, Chester-le-Street, County Durham, DH2 3EJ. 

This scheme offers high-quality spacious apartments, designed for those who have additional support and care needs to live independently in a safe secure and supportive environment. 

The Scheme Coordinator and Assistant Scheme Coordinator/ Activities Coordinator are on site Monday – Friday.  

We have a responder service who is on-site 24 hours a day, to assist residents in an emergency. Mobile response personnel can also be called to site when needed if the responder requires assistance.

Chester-le-Street is a charming market town in County Durham, England, where you can explore the rich history and culture of the region. It is located around 6 miles (10 kilometres) north of Durham and is close to Newcastle.  

Visit the stunning cathedral church of St Cuthbert, where the Lindisfarne Gospels were translated into Anglo-Saxon, and admire the medieval architecture of Lumley Castle, which overlooks the River Wear, and is home to the Emirates Cricket Ground.
