The 84-apartment scheme, on the site of the former St Georges Hospital, The Pastures in Morpeth is an upcoming new Extra Care Scheme built in partnership with developers Vistry and Northumberland County Council.
The scheme will supply high-quality homes, designed for those who have additional support and care needs to live independently. There will be a whole host of facilities and amenities onsite to support and promote independent living.
32 two-bed and 52 one-bed apartments, 15 of which will be designated for those living with dementia, and 2 specialist bariatric apartments. All apartments will be for rent. The homes will be owned and managed by Karbon with Northumberland County Council Adult Social Care team supporting with the allocation of the apartments through a panel.

Morpeth is a historic market town in Northumberland, England, lying on the River Wansbeck. Nearby towns include Ashington and Bedlington. In the 2011 census, the population of Morpeth was given as 14,017, up from 13,833 in the 2001 census. There are great transport links to the rest of Northumberland and beyond with a bus depot in the town centre and a nearby railway station. The Pastures is named paying homage to the site being located on a historic racecourse during the 1700’s.
