A breath of fresh air

David Scott, a Senior Support Worker, leads several activity groups for our customers. He explains how being active benefits our mental health.

I assist customers living in our supported accommodation or independently, offering floating support. We focus on their mental health, helping them live on their own.

Our “Rise Up” groups are thriving; we have walking, coffee, pool, and fishing groups open to all supported customers.

These groups promote mental health, provide a chance to meet new people, socialize, and learn. They offer opportunities to be outside and relieve stress from daily life.

Many of us know loneliness, and these groups help us connect safely with others.

I enjoy walking outdoors; it gives comfort during tough times.

Spring symbolises “new beginnings” for me, with flowers blooming. I love walking in the woods, enjoying the colors. There's nothing better than putting on my boots, getting fresh air, and appreciating nature’s beauty.

If you receive supported or floating support, you can join these groups year-round. Contact your support worker or email  david.scott@karbonhomes.co.uk for more information.
