We’d like to let our customers know about a proposal that could see more than 300 homes transfer from Hellens Residential to Karbon.
Hellens Residential is a registered provider of affordable housing that owns and manages homes across the North of England, including affordable rent, Rent to Buy and low-cost home ownership properties.
After reviewing its long-term plans, Hellens Residential has been exploring how best to continue supporting its customers and communities in the future. As part of this review, it has chosen Karbon Group as its preferred organisation to take ownership and management of its homes, subject to customer consultation and the necessary approvals. Customers living in Leeds and Yorkshire will receive their services from 54North Homes, which is based in the area and part of Karbon Group.
All customers would continue to receive housing services throughout the process, with no disruption to day-to-day services. There would be no impact on services received by existing Karbon customers.
The proposal is currently subject to the completion of the usual checks and approvals, alongside a consultation with Hellens Residential customers.
What happens next?
The consultation with Hellens Residential customers will run until 16 November. Once the consultation has finished and all necessary approvals have been considered, a decision will be made on whether the transfer should go ahead. We’ll continue to keep customers updated.
