Karbon Homes have been named as finalists in the category of Excellence in Inclusion and Diversity at the upcoming HR&D Awards.
The 17th annual awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 5 June and aims to raise the profile of the HR&D profession across the North East, celebrating the values that HR&D can deliver in improving work and working lives.
Karbon is one of three North East organisations shortlisted in this category, having been recognised for our impactful work to shape positive change and deliver equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Di Keller, Karbon’s Inclusion and Belonging Strategic Lead, said:
“We always strive to promote equity, celebrate diversity and advocate for the rights of our customers and colleagues. In recent years, we’ve made real progress, and we measure our success through regular surveys and feedback.
“Some of our proudest achievements are the creation of nine colleague-led support networks - each dedicated to reducing inequalities and driving positive change - and training we deliver as part of our fictitious organisation ‘In their Shoes Community Housing’.
“This immersive experience uses props and simulations to help participants better understand the everyday realities faced by people with disabilities - encouraging empathy, awareness and action.”
We’d like to wish all finalists across the different categories the best of luck on the day.
