Step into Karbon - our new work experience week

Registration is now live for Step into Karbon, a new week-long work experience programme designed to help people develop skills in the housing sector, gain insight into the workplace and explore a range of potential career pathways.

The initiative forms part of our commitment to investing in people in our communities and creating opportunities that support individuals to achieve their goals and realise their ambitions.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of job roles available at an organisation like Karbon, including sales and marketing, health and safety, communications, planned investment and employment and skills. They will be supported by Karbon’s Employment and Skills Team and recruitment specialists Sellick Partnership who will help them to develop practical employment skills.

Graeme Welsh, one of the Employment Advisors at Karbon Foundation, said: "We get a lot of requests from people wanting to find out more about the working at Karbon. We developed Step into Karbon to formalise work experience opportunities here and give a meaningful programme of activity to the people who take part.

"What makes Step into Karbon unique is the chance to work with a variety of departments across the organisation. This means they can gain experience in an area that interests them or that they may previously have never thought about working in.

"Our Employment and Skills Team and Sellick Partnership will be with them along the way to support with developing employability skills, interpersonal skills and more practical skills. By the end of the week, they’ll be in a great place to take the next step in their career journey."
