Lydia Heighton from Stanley recently took her children along to an event with Creative Kitchen and told us more about all the foodie related fun.
“We had a great time making a rainbow pasta pot and ice cream, colouring in our own chef’s hat and taking part in some dancing and games. The ice cream tasted so good and was so simple to make. The Creative Kitchen team are amazing.”
Lydia and her family have also been exploring nature with outdoor specialists OASES and have booked to attend more of the free events over the summer holidays.
“The kids loved being outdoors, using binoculars to look for the birds, matching the sounds of birds with toys and building bird’s nests too.
“I’ve been able to plan out our entire summer with free activities. We’ve booked the circus skills event, science fun with ATOMS, Multisports and two more Creative Kitchen and nature walk workshops.”
With the cost of living increasing, finding affordable things to do with the kids over the summer has become so important for many families. Holiday Squad has really helped parents like Lydia find fun ways for her kids to spend their free time.
“It’s been incredible having things to do with the kids over the summer. It can be really expensive to find activities for everyone to take part in, plus eating out isn’t cheap.
“With Holiday Squad there are so many different things to do, experiences to be had and memories to be made. Plus, the kids get a free packed lunch so we have been able to save some money too.”
“It’s good that my children can get out and about, meet new people and take part in things that I never would have thought to do. It great to see how much they enjoy it. I feel lucky and privileged that they can experience these events.”
Holiday Squad will be running throughout the summer holidays. It includes lots of free activities with nature walks, cooking workshops, fun with science, Multisports, art classes and circus skills.
