At Karbon Homes, we believe in creating opportunities that help people thrive – and our apprenticeship programme is a big part of that mission.
Whether you're just starting out, looking to return to work, or thinking about a career change, an apprenticeship with Karbon could be your next big step. It’s more than just a job – it’s a chance to earn while you learn, gain hands-on experience and build a career with real purpose.
Why choose a Karbon apprenticeship?
- Earn while you learn – Get paid while gaining valuable skills and qualifications.
- Flexible working – Enjoy a healthy work-life balance with flexible hours and 26 days of paid holiday (plus bank holidays).
- Real experience – Work alongside experienced professionals in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
- Support every step of the way – We partner with local colleges like Gateshead College, New College Durham and East Durham College to make sure you get the best training possible.
Creating opportunities for our customers
In line with our vision to help customers lead successful, independent lives, it felt only right that these apprenticeship opportunities should be kept for the people we’re constantly striving to support, those living in our homes.
While we do make opportunities available to others, these apprenticeship opportunities are currently only available to our customers.
Meet some of our apprentices
Our apprentices come from all walks of life and bring their own unique stories and goals. From school leavers to parents returning to work, and those looking to retrain, our programme is open to everyone living in a Karbon home.

Kayleigh, a former retail worker, found her passion in joinery: “I’ve always been handy with building things. Now I’m getting the experience and qualifications to turn it into a career.”

Jack, an apprentice electrician, says: “Learning on the job and getting paid is the best way to build a future. It’s the best I’ve felt in a while. I’m learning things that will go towards my future career.”

Toni, a mum of two, returned to work through our programme: “It’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I’m showing my kids that you can achieve anything if you work for it.”
