Keeping customers safe in their homes is our top priority.
As part of our commitment to building safety, we are always looking for opportunities to connect customers with the work we do to keep them safe and engaged with us, especially those who live in our high-rise buildings.
In December, we arranged a customer visit to Byker Community Fire Station.
Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue are one of the busiest emergency services in the country, and work throughout many areas where our customers live.
Customers were joined by our Building Safety and Customer Engagement colleagues on a tour of the fire station, followed by a talk on building safety by the station manager, which gave customers the opportunity to speak directly to the fire service and address any concerns or questions they had. Demonstrations also took place with equipment used in high rise buildings, giving reassurance and direction to customers in the event of a fire.
