Are you interested in a career in construction but not sure where to start?
We've teamed up with Robertson Group and RE:GEN Group to offer a free four-day Construction Skills Course designed to help you gain the qualifications, confidence and industry knowledge needed to take your first steps into the sector. Suitable for people aged 19 and over living in the South Shields area, the course offers practical training, employability support and direct access to job opportunities.
You'll have the opportunity to work towards gaining a CSCS Card and Level 1 Health and Safety qualification, both of which are valuable credentials for anyone looking to begin a career in the construction industry.
As part of the course, you'll take part in a site tour of Robertson Construction's Benton Road development in South Shields, providing a first-hand look at a live construction project and the range of careers available within the industry.
The course also includes employability workshops with our Employment and Skills Team designed to help you develop the skills employers are looking for. From boosting confidence to improving job search and interview techniques, these sessions will help learners become job-ready.
Those completing the course will be able to access employment opportunities through Search Recruitment, Robertson Construction's recruitment agency partner, helping you turn your new skills and qualifications into real career opportunities.
Course dates and locations
- Monday 12 October, 11am to 2pm at the Benton Road development site
- Tuesday 13 October to Thursday 15 October, 9.30am to 4pm at One Trinity Gardens, South Shields
