Accommodation options

Karbon has a number of bungalows and flats designed specifically for residents aged over 55 or 60.

Our properties can be adapted to suit specific needs and residents have access to a range of support services, for example, an alarm to call help in an emergency.

 

We have several sheltered housing schemes across Northumberland, Newcastle, South Tyneside and County Durham.

Residents live in self-contained flats with access to communal areas and Karbon staff onsite.

Sheltered housing means residents can retain their independence while reaping the benefits of living in a close community with help at hand if it’s needed.

Karbon Homes has three Extra Care housing schemes in Prudhoe, Chester-le-Street and Alnwick.

Extra Care is designed to meet the needs of older people who may require a higher level of care and support but still wish to retain some independence, living in their own home in a secure community.

The concept of Extra Care is to provide self-contained apartments with design features and support services to enable self-care and independent living. It provides an opportunity to meet housing, health and social care needs in one place. Staff are on hand to offer support, and care is available 24/7 for those who need it. There is a community restaurant, open every day, and a wide range of facilities and activities on offer.
